Meet Rose Lynch
I grew up in Lake County, CA for the first 17 years of my life. After graduating high school, I moved to Utah for a year where I attended Southern Utah University for one year. After that, I took one semester off and spent some time in Saint George, UT with my mom. I moved to Chico in November 2013 and started going to Butte College. As of fall 2015, I will be attending CSU Chico! I’m a Communications major, and I’ll start working on a minor in Women’s Studies soon.
Tell us about your Modeling experience/background:
I started modeling here in Chico for the Chico Art Center, with figure and portrait drawing classes. From there, I started modeling for classes as CSU Chico, and got involved with the Butte College Fashion Show. After that, I was invited to model for the Chico Wedding Collective and here we are!
What got you into modeling?
I have been told that I should model since I was young, but not until I moved to Chico did I start pursuing it seriously. A roommate was the one who got me into the figure modeling, and I’ve loved it since then.
What do you love most about modeling?
With the figure drawing classes that I have posed for, I find it to be so incredible that there are as many ways to see my body as there are people to draw it, and all of them are artistic and beautiful. Seeing myself through other’s art has given me such confidence and helped me become much more comfortable in my own skin. Every photo shoot that I have worked on has been so much fun too, who doesn’t like playing dress up for an afternoon?
What are your goals?
I would like to keep modeling and expanding my portfolio, and doing as much as I can while in school. After I graduate, I am considering joining the Peace Corps and will see where they take me. Modeling has given me the confidence to look to the future with hope and excitement, even though I don’t have specific career and life goals.
What do you like to do for leisure?
I love running, hiking, swimming, yoga…. basically doing anything outside! (Which is definitely part of the reason I love Chico so much!) I have loved reading and writing since I have had the ability to. There is so much that this earth has to offer all of us, and I intend to experience all that I can, hopefully while listening to loud music with people I love.
What are three of your favorite songs?
1. Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd
2. The Way- Fastball
3. Video Games- Lana Del Rey
