Meet Maya Ellis
I was born and raised in Chico Ca. I have been attending butte college since I graduated high school in 2012. I am currently taking a break from school and working on saving up to move to Portland Oregon for art school.
Tell us about your Modeling experience/background What got you into modeling?
I started modeling when I was a freshmen in high school, I was asked to model for a local t-shirt design company named Restored. I modeled for another local designer by the name of Able Abe soon after. Then went on to model for Three Sixty Ecotique, a local clothing shop and Shopsadiedeluxe.com a locally based online vintage shop. Throughout the years I have also modeled for my brother who is a freelance photographer at butyouwould.com.
What do you love most about modeling?
Modeling is an incredible outlet for artistic expression. Modeling is very similar to acting in the sense that you are portraying a specific “character” and I enjoy challenging myself to step outside of the routine of who I think I am on a day to day basis and remember that I can be anything I want to be.
What are your goals?
My goals at this point in my life are to go to art school as soon as possible and travel the world. What do you like to do for leisure? With my free time I enjoy listening to music, riding my bike, drawing or painting, reading and spending time with my friends.
